The army is a large organisation with each unit consisting of 600-1000 personnel and holding a large inventory of stores and equipment. There is a requirement of clerical staff to maintain the inventory , carryout documentation of personnel, book keeping and other routine correspondence. Thus there is requirement of candidates conversant in English and Maths/Book Keeping.
Indian Army Soldier Clerk Examination
The Indian Army offers a dignified, disciplined and prestigious career. There are hundreds of diverse job profiles available in the Indian Army. Accordingly, the nature of responsibilities also varies. The Indian Army consists of various arms divisions and services.
Among these, soldier clerk (general duty/ store keeper technical) is one. For the recruitment of clerks Indian Army conducts an exam namely Indian Army Soldier Clerk Exam. The examination is held every month.

Report to rally site on the dates announced on Notice Board along with your Educational Certificate, Birth Certificate (in original) domicile certificate, character certificate and six passport size photographs.
Nationality: Unmarried male Indian citizens (including those of Nepal) are eligible.
Age: 17.5 – 23 years
Educational Qualifications: You ought to have cleared your 10+2/Intermediate exam passed in any stream (Arts/ Commerce/ Science) with 50% marks in aggregate and at least 40% in each subject. There is no criteria of marks if you have a higher qualification.

A candidate should have robust physique and good mental health. Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 Cms expansion. Should have normal hearing with each ear and good binocular vision in both eyes. He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye. Colour vision should be CP-III. Should recognize red and green colours. Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth i.e. minimum 14 dental points. Should not have disease like deformity of bones, hydrocele and varicocle or piles.
Physical Fitness Tests (PFT)
To determine the Physical Fitness, the following tests carrying 100 marks are held:-
(a) 1 Mile Run
(b) Pull Ups
(d) 9 Feet Ditch
Marking System is as follows:
(a) 1 MILE RUN

These are qualifying test and no marks are awarded.
Written Exam Pattern
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a written test. Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted on the last Sunday of every month for the recruitment of Soldier Clerks.
It comprises of the following two papers:
Paper-I : It generally comprises of questions on IQ, Numerical ability, General knowledge and current affairs.
Duration of papers is 60 minutes.
Total marks 100
Pass Marks 32
Those candidates competing for the position of Soldier clerk/ store keeper technical have to also write a specific Paper II:
Paper-II : It generally comprises of Mathematics, Computer Science & English (Language Proficiency).
Duration – 30 minutes.
Total marks – 50 marks
Pass Marks-26 marks.
In addition to paper 1 Sol Clk has to qualify in their respective paper.
